Across the world, millions are displaced by war, violence, and the climate crisis. This is not a new reality, but one that will deepen as climate catastrophes and conflicts grow. At Love Welcomes, we’ve always stood alongside displaced women and refugees, from our beginnings in the Greek camps to today, where we partner with organisations worldwide to support women and their communities in navigating these challenges.
From the start, we’ve evolved our approach to create the most meaningful impact. Our London workshop was a shining example: a place where refugee women gained new skills, found friendship, and earned a purposeful, above-living wage. That experience taught us so much—not just about work, but about the power of connection. Now, we’re applying those lessons in new ways, working closely with partner organisations to deliver ongoing guidance and support, while ensuring displaced women can thrive within their own communities.
When you purchase from us, 60% of the price goes directly to the artisans who make the products—providing essential income to women who are rebuilding their lives. Beyond this, we reinvest in their communities, because we believe communities themselves are best placed to identify and address their own unique challenges. By enabling women to thrive, we help entire communities to flourish.
What does a friendship-first model mean?
At Love Welcomes, friendship comes first. This means placing artisan wellness, dignity, and community at the centre of everything we do. By creating access to international support networks and new markets, we amplify artisan voices and break the cycle of isolation.
We know that when women thrive, they lift their families and communities with them. Our friendship-first approach isn’t just about work—it’s about healing, opportunity, and connection. It’s about standing together, side by side, to create a future filled with possibility.
Because we are stronger together— and together we can change the world.
